Governance
The Board of the UWI Development and Endowment Fund (UWIDEF) is supported by five standing committees, each responsible for a critical area of governance, strategy, and operations. These committees enable focused oversight and ensure the effective advancement of the Fund’s mission.
Finance Committee

The Finance Committee provides oversight of the Fund’s financial management and sustainability. It is responsible for reviewing budgets, monitoring financial performance, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and advising the Board on investment strategies and risk management. The Committee plays a key role in safeguarding the Fund’s assets and ensuring transparency and accountability in all financial matters.
Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee leads the development and execution of strategies to grow the Fund’s resources. It identifies funding opportunities, cultivates relationships with donors and corporate partners, and oversees fundraising campaigns and events. The Committee works to ensure a sustainable pipeline of support to advance the University’s strategic priorities.
Administration & Governance Committee

The Administration & Governance Committee ensures that the Fund operates in accordance with best practices in corporate governance. It is responsible for reviewing policies, overseeing compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and supporting Board effectiveness through governance frameworks, evaluations, and documentation. The Committee also provides guidance on organizational structure and administrative processes.

The Membership Committee oversees the engagement, recruitment, and retention of members of the Fund. It develops strategies to strengthen member participation, ensures clear value propositions for members, and supports initiatives that foster long-term relationships with stakeholders. The Committee also monitors membership growth and engagement metrics.
Marketing Committee

The Marketing Committee is responsible for promoting the Fund’s brand, initiatives, and impact. It develops and implements communication and marketing strategies, manages public relations, and supports the visibility of fundraising campaigns and events. The Committee ensures consistent messaging and works to enhance stakeholder engagement across all platforms..
