About Us
The UWI Development & Endowment Fund fosters academic excellence through scholarships, financial support for students, and funding for transformative capital projects and research across UWI campuses.
Our Story
When the late Professor George Maxwell Richards, T.C., UWI Pro Vice-Chancellor (1980-1985) and Principal of the St. Augustine Campus (1985-1996), and the late Sir Alister McIntyre, UWI Vice Chancellor (1988-1998) first conceived of an endowment fund for students, they wanted to offer financial support to those deserving bright minds who were unable to fund their tertiary education dreams on their own.
Together with other like-minded individuals who also shared their passion for the University, they designed the UWI Development and Endowment Fund.
