Dr. Dinesh Martin is a dental surgeon and governance professional whose career spans clinical practice, higher education and regulatory leadership. He brings to his roles a strong commitment to clinical excellence, professional standards and the advancement of organisational effectiveness across healthcare and academic sectors.

Dr. Martin holds multiple postgraduate qualifications, including a Master’s degree in Advanced General Dental Practice and a Postgraduate Certificate in Endodontics. He has also earned several diplomas from the Royal Colleges of Surgeons in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ireland and England reflecting respected recognition from leading professional bodies.

In the field of education Dr. Martin actively contributes to undergraduate learning and professional development. He serves as a part time lecturer at the University of the West Indies School of Dentistry and is also an examiner at the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Dr. Martin is actively involved in healthcare governance and regulatory affairs. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Dental Council of Trinidad and Tobago and is a member of a Specialist Advisory Board for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh where he contributes to the development of professional standards and regulatory guidance.

He is also the Co-founder and Chairman of The Human Factors Foundation, an interdisciplinary initiative focused on improving safety, performance and decision making in healthcare and other complex organisations. The Foundation draws on principles from human factors engineering, behavioural science and clinical governance to reduce systemic risk and support improvement across safety sensitive environments.
